These large-scale paintings were presented as a solo show at the Art League Gallery in Alexandria, Va., and The Barns of Rose Hill in Berryville, Va., in 2018, as a celebration of women's inner resilience and strength. A text block accompanying each portrait told their stories, from a woman who had escaped an abusive arranged marriage, to a Chinese immigrant housekeeper who managed to put four children through college. re to add text.
